RW 06 of Cempaka Putih Urban Village, Cempaka Putih and RW 08 of Tanah Tinggi Urban Village, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, are ready to run verification of province-Climate Village (Proklim) competition held by Jakarta Environment Agency.

These two RWs condition are included as dense population

Central Jakarta Environment Sub-agency's Community Role Section Head, Enrile Indro, said Proklim competition is an appreciation for communities that have carried out mitigation, adaptation and built institutions to deal with climate change.

Verification, Enrile added, is run to match the submitted documents with field condition.

"This is not assessment for competition, it's just matching the data," he said, Wednesday (7/31).

Enrile continued that the assessment will be run for five RWs in Central Jakarta to determine whether they meet Madya level category or not.

"These two RWs condition are included as dense population," he added.

Meanwhile, Johar Baru Sub-district Secretary, Andre Ravnic, admitted he is optimistic that RW 08 of Tanah Tinggi Urban Village will meet the criteria of Madya level category.

He explained that several preparations have been conducted such as involving various stakeholders such as Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency for urban farming coaching and productive plant development.

Then dredging Sentiong River by Central Jakarta Water Resource Sub-agency at RW 08 to anticipate flood. Then there are also residents who took the initiative to build rainwater catchment roofs used to water plants.

"This preparation is not only for assessment. We have collaborated with the residents long before this," he stated.
